Entry-Level Civil Engineer
Location: West Bend, WI — On-Site
Position Summary
We are seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our team in West Bend. This is an on-site position with a strong focus on CAD drafting, civil engineering design, and project support.
You will work closely with Project Managers on a variety of private development projects, including residential subdivisions, commercial developments, and site improvement projects. This is a great opportunity for a recent engineering graduate or early-career engineer who is eager to learn, take on responsibility, and grow within a supportive team.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, willing to ask questions, and interested in developing a long-term career in civil engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and development of approximately 5–10 projects at a time, including residential, commercial, and subdivision projects.
- Prepare and assist with grading plans, drainage design, paving, water main and sanitary sewer plans, and other civil engineering plans.
- Assist with preparing stormwater management reports and documentation.
- Perform CAD drafting and design for a variety of civil engineering and land surveying projects.
- Support Senior and Lead Project Managers with weekly task lists and daily project priorities.
- Assist with preparing plans, conducting field surveys, performing design calculations, and preparing materials for permitting.
- Conduct initial project research, including utilizing GIS and other online resources to gather information, prepare base maps, and establish the initial project framework for the Project Manager.
- Communicate professionally with project team members, clients, municipalities, review agencies, consultants, and other project stakeholders as needed.
- Learn and apply applicable design standards, regulations, and permitting requirements.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- 0–4 years of civil engineering experience; recent engineering graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Internship or previous civil engineering experience is a plus.
- Must have a degree from an accredited engineering program.
Certifications
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
- Candidates should have an interest in working toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in Wisconsin.
Software & Technical Skills
- Civil 3D experience required.
- AutoCAD and HydroCAD experience is a plus; training is available.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new software and processes.
- Ability to organize multiple projects and priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
